About Susan

Since childhood I have been passionate about being in Nature.

Growing up in Southern California, there was ample opportunity to explore the outdoors all year round. Building forts in the foothills behind our home, walking alone in the pine forest nearby, spending summers at the beach, and best of all staying at our grandfather’s cabin near Yosemite- all were experiences of wonder and joy, and a sense of oneness with the Earth.

As an adult I have continued to live in places that invite deep experiences of being in Nature, such as the island of Puerto Rico, and the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. Currently I live in a small town in Connecticut, surrounded by woods and situated on the Connecticut River.

In addition to being and hiking in Nature, I love travel with my family, spending time with good friends, singing in a chorus, and attending spiritual retreats.

I am married, have two adult children, 5 teenage and adult grandchildren, 2 beautiful big cats and one loving and very sensitive Beagle.

My Professional Life

I have studied and practiced Astrology for close to 40 years. My primary focus has been to study the birth chart from a psychological and spiritual perspective. Dr. Zipporah Dobyns  and Dr. Miguel Charneco, both Psychologists as well as Astrologers, were my first teachers. In addition, I have also learned from many other teachers- Isabelle Hickey,  Dane Rhudyar and Liz Greene to name a few.

In the field of Shamanism, I graduated from a three-year course in Advanced Shamanism, given by Michael Harner and Sandra Ingerman through the Institute for Shamanic Studies.  With Sandra Ingerman, I received training in Soul Retrieval,  Medicine for the Earth, and Healing with Spiritual Light. I also completed Sandra’s Two Year Teacher Training program.

In addition to working with individual clients, I have given workshops in the fields of Eco-Psychology, Shamanism, and Medicine for the Earth, and have also led and participated in drumming circles over the years.
